Teaching and exam period:The course starts in the August block, goes through Autumn parallel, January block, Spring parallel and into the June block.

About this course

Development of own practice and practice theory as a subject teacher in science and natural sciences through didactic theory, exercises and reflection. Planning, implementation and assessment of education for sustainable development with support in didactic thinking, curricula and legislation. Central subject and vocational didactic topics are interaction between different forms of learning and learning arenas, design of learning courses and workshop learning, exploratory working methods, phenomenological and business-based learning, vocational didactic principles, reverse curriculum work, informal and formal assessment of competence and basic skills, self-regulated learning. In addition, emphasis is placed on transformative learning theory, outdoor teaching methodology and development of interdisciplinary arenas and working methods in science and nature use.

  • The course is both practice-based and collaboration-based with a focus on the development of own teacher competence and practice theory. Learning takes place in alternation between teaching and dialogue, practice and reflection, practice and theory. Througout the programme student are assigned to a colloquial group that share experiences and collaborate on written assignments.
  • The student will be supervised during the compulsory activities and take part in various learning groups. The supervision given in practicum and at in university block-weeks are coordinated to ensure integrative progression and cohesion of the student journey as a whole.
  • The course is for student teachers with competencies in at least one subject from each of the two groups: 1. Sciences, Mathematics, Biology, Data Science, Physics, Geology and/or Chemistry. 2. Subjects in the Programme of Agriculture, Fishery and Forestry.
  • Oral examination.

    Examination grade: A-F.

  • The external examiner approves the examination scheme and assesses the oral examination.
  • There are three compulsory activities:

    • Two assignments in subject didactics
    • Safety course

    All required activities must be approved in order to take the exam.
