Learning outcome
Students must have a good understanding of methods, as well as an understanding of how to write a master's thesis.
Students must have a basic understanding and knowledge of operations. Once the course has been completed, students should be able to manage operations, analyze, plan and optimize processes. Emphasis will be placed on giving students knowledge about specific tools. It is a clear goal of the students to gain a practical insight into the topics covered in the course.
After completing the course
Our focus is the approach to digital decision support. IND310 will look at different contexts from the 5 sectors from the Industry Classification Benchmark (ICB): Health, Financial, Industry, Energy, Aqualtur
In order to make good decisions when working with data, we will first learn the approach to digital operations management through CRISP-DM methodology: 1. Business understanding, 2. Data understanding 3. Data preparation 4. Modeling
- Both ordinary lectures and seminars will be used. The students will complete several assignments throughout the semester, as well as a presentation of a topic to the class. The students must develop a concrete analysis of a company or case, based on one or more company visits, and present in the form of an proposals for improvement. Tasks are carried out as group work to train communication, collaboration and leadership. The student will attend in presentasjoner where people from the private and public sector present various topics that are relevant to the course. In our work, we use project-based learning, and the student will work in groups on a selected case.
- Written assignments are followed up with individual guidance, where time and time are agreed with the lecturer as needed.

Longitudinal evaluation
Mandatory two assignments are considered passed / failed.
The grade in the course is set on the basis of the semester assignment. Letter grades (A-F).
- Participation in excursions / company visits and professional seminars, submission of semester and case assignments, as well as exercises
- Two lecture hours x two days + one practice hour
