NMBU's cabin facility for student is located around 15 km from Kongsberg at Sandoren.
The facility is located near Fossevannet and consists of four cabins. Due to lack of maintenance, only the main cabin and sauna cabin can now be used + outhouse (toilet) and storage room. There is no electricity or water. There is a summer road all the way to the cabin, but in the winter you have to walk about three km from the road. Ski tracks may be available during the winter.
The main cabin is built on the 1.5th floor of timbered plank. There are 14 beds on the first floor + 16 extra mattresses. The ground floor consists of a living room, kitchen, storage room, hallway.
The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator and stove on gas. There are two wood stoves and a fireplace in the cabin. Kitchen utensils for approx. 30 people. Visitors must bring suitable bed linen (duvets, pillows, sleeping bags etc.) tea towels and clokths. Also bring other consumables such as detergents, candles, toilet paper, soap etc.
The cabin is preferably rented out to student clubs and associations at NMBU.

Directions
Sandoren is located 15 km southwest of Kongsberg. Drive towards Kongsberg. At Skollenborg, turn off to Notodden, then left towards Heistadmoen.
After 10 km, turn right towards Rajeveien. After 3 km and having passed two large cabins on the right side, you will find a parking lot around 3-4 km from the cabin. The trail is blocked with a barrier about 200 meters from the parking lot which blocks the road during the winter. We assume that this road closes every year when it starts to snow and the ski tracks will be prepared.
