About this course
Learning outcome
After completing the course, the candidate must:
Have up-to-date and good insight into typical types of pollution and processes in fresh water (lakes)
Be able to assess causes of water pollution and understand connections between pollution sources and response in fresh water
Be able to distinguish man-made and natural sources of nutrients, acidification, heavy metals etc. in fresh water
Be able to link hydrological processes and water quality in lakes as part of a comprehensive assessment of pollution at a drainage basin level
Have knowledge of natural variations in water quality and uncertainty in measured and calculated effects of pollution sources and possible measures
Be able to contribute to water research and a knowledge-based and future-oriented water management
- Lectures, excursion, student lectures.

Oral exam: 100%.
Grading scale A-E / Not pass.
Oral exam Grading: Letter grades- An external examiner is used for evaluating the course arrangements and assessing the oral exam.
- One to two excursions and student lectures.
Students who want to take the course must apply for admission in Studentweb no later than August 31st. After that, the places in the course will be distributed.
The course is thought in English on request.
