Zakhar Maletskyi is an Associate Professor of Water and Environmental Engineering at the Institute of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology (REALTEK).

His research interests are within electrochemical and membrane processes for advanced water and wastewater treatment; environmental and industrial process analytics; monitoring and treating of water contaminants of emerging concern; water-food-energy nexus.

His teaching speciality is Water and Wastewater Treatment Technology and Engineering. He teaches in THT 272, THT 310 and THT 311 courses at NMBU.

Zakhar Maletskyi co-facilitates collaborative research and educational projects within the Water Harmony network in Europe, North and South America, East Africa, Central and South Asia.

In addition to scholarly and teaching activities, Zakhar Maletskyi is a representative of the institute in the research board of the faculty. He is a board chair of the Forum for technology and development cooperation (FTU) at the Norwegian society of graduate technical and scientific professionals (Tekna). He is also a co-leader of the working group Water Human Capital of Water Europe.
