My PhD project is titled "Internationalism and Solidarity in Crisis? Representation of Migrant Workers by and within Trade Unions in Brazil".

I worked as a labour migration officer for the International Labour Organization Office for Latin America and the Caribbean and am an alumnus of the European Masters in Migration and Intercultural Relations (EMMIR). 

I am interested in labor migration, trade unionism, and Marxist critical migration theory.

  • Professional Experience

     

    Labour Migration and Mobility Officer

    Jan/2021 – Sep/2022 – International Labour Organization, Office for Latin America and the Caribbean

    Coordination of the project “Supporting the employability and labour market integration of Venezuelans in Latin America”.  Some successful outcomes of the project include the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Colombian and Ecuadorian public employment services and the creation of a regional scheme for the recognition of professional credentials of Venezuelans in seven Latin American countries.

     

    Project Analyst

    Aug/2020 – April/2021Migraflix

    Responsible for writing applications for the NGO as well as memorandums for donors and different sources of funding. Successful projects included funding awarded by the Inter- American Development Bank, the International Organization for Migration, and the British Council.

    Co-authored and worked on the research project #StayAtHome or Stay Hungry: Inequality is the Greatest Pandemic Latin America has ever Faced funded by the University of Oldenburg.
