Postdoktor

  • Institutt for maskinteknikk og teknologiledelse

Dario A. Leon graduated in 2016 from the Faculty of Physics of the University of Havana, Cuba. He then worked as a young researcher at the Institute of Cybernetics, Mathematics and Physics, Cuba. He has been involved in several research projects within the group of Prof. Augusto Gonzalez, in the areas of Atomic Physics, Computational Physics and Biophysics.

In 2017 Dario A. Leon enrolled the doctoral programme in Physics and Nanosciences at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and the CNR Institute of Nanoscience in Modena, Italy, as part of the MaX Centre of Excellence ecosystem. The PhD project, supervised by Prof. Elisa Molinari and Dr. Andrea Ferretti, involved the study of structural, electronic, magnetic and spectroscopic properties of different kind of systems, ranging from molecules, bulk semiconductors and metals to complex metallic interfaces. An essential part of the work consisted in the development and application of a new computational methodology, within the framework of many body perturbation theory, that has been implemented in the Yambo code.

Since his PhD graduation in October 2021, Dario A. Leon continued working as a postdoc at the CNR Institute in Modena until May 2022, when he enrolled a posdoc position at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, within the Material theory and informatics group lead by Prof. Kristian Berland.

The current scientific activity of Dario A. Leon is linked to the MORTY project lead by Prof. Kristian Berland and Prof. Øystein Prytz from the University of Oslo.
