Professor of Development Studies, Noragric, Faculty of Landscape and Society (LANDSAM), with a PhD in social anthropology from the University of Oslo (1996), working experience as a Researcher at the Norwegian Institute of Urban and Regional Research (NIBR) 1988-1998, First Secretary at the Norwegian Embassy in Maputo, Mozambique (1999-2000), Professor of Anthropology at Nord University (2014-2017), and  and around 20 years’ employment at NMBU.

I am currently focusing on research on land tenure changes, local knowledge, matriliny, and women’s land rights and responsibilities in Mozambique.
