Curious on microbes within our gut; who are they, what do they do, and how can they affect us? I started my PhD by studying gut microbiomes and metabolites from infants their first year of life, to better understand the microbial succession which happens within all of us, in addition to how factors, such as delivery mode and diet may affect the bacterial community during the infants' early life. I am still currently working on unveiling the bacterial members, their metabolites, and their potential effects during infancy.
