My job is to lead idea-to-market projects. That means that my project group and I are working to launch new ideas, which our business side have for our markets (E.g. a new chocolate tablet). The projects are mostly divided into 2 parts.
Feasibility and productions assessment: Here we are developing the recipes (taste, texture, appearance) and making sure we can produce efficiently the products in our factories. Working mainly with Marketing/Sales, Research & Development teams, engineers and also our experts in local legislations (to make sure we are allowed use every ingredients etc.).
Launch phase: So here we are making sure that all the logistical information and steps, are coordinated and ready for our launch in the stores. This include making sure we source on time everything we need from our suppliers, that we produce and deliver the correct volumes at the right time.
The biggest motivation for my position is to work with fun products (chocolate), and to lead a big project team with stakeholders from functions all across the company
(Marketing/Sales, CS&L, Scientists, Engineers/Factory contacts). This means you need to learn and know a lot about everything, and be able to sort out and support on potential problems within all functions. This way you always face new challenges, which makes the days more challenging and fun.
The good part about being in Mondelez is the great people in the team and the fact that they give you a lot of opportunities across different functions and countries.

Hva var bra med utdannelsen?
It gives you a lot of opportunities, as you touch a lot of different fields of subject. This way you are not bound to one specific line of work. For specific subjects I sadly can’t think of anyone I really use. It’s more a general use of skills and knowledge, which makes it easier when you start working.

Har du noen råd til kommende studenter?
Try to figure out which field of work (food, oil, industry, bank etc.) you would like to work in when choosing your first job. Often you remain in this field, so it’s important to find something interesting and something you like. I would recommend to take a less interesting/impressive job in a field you like for a short period, rather than taking a more impressive job in a field you don’t like.
If feasible, try to do your master thesis for a company so that you can closer investigate if you would be interested to continue in that field or not.
For subjects, try to add some financial subjects to your plan, as this gives a basic which drives all private companies, so very useful.
