PhD degree – Trial Lecture and Public Defence
Mehmet Baris Ates, Department of Mathematical Sciences and Technology, will defend his PhD thesis: Investigating the effects of novel heat and high pressure processing on Listeria and Bacillus inactivation in a model food, on 11 June 2015.

Norwegian title of thesis:
Inaktiveringsstudie av Listeria og Bacillus i et modellprodukt prosessert ved en ny varmebehandlingsmetode og høytrykk

Prescribed subject of the trial lecture:
Food waste, shelf-life labeling and food safety. Describe how research in microbiology and microbiological modelling can contribute to determination of shelf-life for food products and how this can contribute to reduced food waste while food safety is ensured.

Time and place for the trial lecture and the public defence:
Thursday 11 June 2015 at 12:00
Vitenparken, Fredrik A. Dahlsv 8, Ås

Supervisors:
Associate Professor Odd Ivar Lekang, NMBU, Department of Mathematical Sciences and Technology (Main supervisor)
Researcher Dr. Tone Mari Rode, Nofima AS - The Norwegian Institute of Food, Fisheries and Aquaculture Research (Co-supervisor)
Co-supervisor: Researcher Dr. Dagbjørn Skipnes, Nofima AS - The Norwegian Institute of Food, Fisheries and Aquaculture Research (Co-supervisor)
