New Postdoctoral Fellow at Skatteforsk

Alpysbayeva obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from KU Leuven under the supervision of prof. dr. Stijn Vanormelingen. She holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Nazarbayev University, Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, and a Bachelor’s degree from Nazarbayev University majoring in Economics and minoring in Mathematics.

Dinara’s research interests lie in the area of Applied Microeconomics, in particular, within fields of Labor Economics and Applied Industrial Organization. Her doctoral thesis is centered around the analysis of the impact of labor regulations on aggregate outcomes, with firm-level data analysis as the primary research method. Her research is also related to the role of firm heterogeneity in labor market dynamics and regional aspects of inequality.

At Skatteforsk, Dinara Alpysbayeva will be working with the project “Employment, investment, and inequality in the aftermath of the Covid-19 crisis”, which studies the long-term effects of the Covid-19 crisis and the related policy measures.
