There are almost infinite ways to engage in student democracy at NMBU. Here is a guide on how to get involved in student democracy in 1-2-3! We need students at all levels, it is the students who lay the foundation for our environment at NMBU. In the student democracy you will get experience that all employers request.
Level 1 - You are concerned with issues that directly affect your academic life.
Tip: The first thing you must do is choose a class representative. This student meets the student council at their institute and through this directly influences the institute board. The second thing to do is turn up at the general assembly each semester to elect representatives. In the program council, we as students help change our study program for the better.
Level 2 - You want to work for all students on NMBU to improve campus life in Ås.
Tip: If you are on the ballot in various committees, such as student council, you are helping to handle regulations and topics affecting NMBU as a whole. You can, for instance, serve on the study committee to ensure outstanding education and development of degree programs at NMBU.
Level 3 - You want to stake out the university's strategy and ensure students' interests in NMBU’s governing body.
Tip: If you have experience in student democracy at NMBU, you are valuable to the interests of all students. It is the Faculty Boards, the University Board, and the Student Board where our concerted efforts become reality. In student elections each spring the students' highest representatives are chosen for these bodies.
