There is still a low risk for infection if the preventative measures recommended by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health are followed. Students can continue attending classes as usual.

What can you as a student do to prevent infection?

What can you do?

Practicing proper cough etiquette and good hand hygiene are the most important measures we can take to prevent infection. The Norwegian Institute of Public Health recommends the following:

  • Use paper tissue over your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Throw the paper away immediately and wash your hands.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently, especially after you have been among large groups of people.
  • Cough or sneeze into your flexed elbow if paper tissue is unavailable.
  • Hand disinfection with Anti-bacterial fluid is a good alternative when you cannot wash your hands.

What is NMBU doing?

NMBU’s regular cleaning procedures include washing of contact points for the transfer of infection – door handles, light switches, etc. Additional cleaning measures are unnecessary. Our cleaning staff has recently taken a course on infection and hygiene.

Hand disinfectant (Anti-bac) will placed  in the cafeterias. Due to the rush of orders with our providers, we can experience delays in delivery time for hand disinfectant and dispensers.
