PhD student Ian Byrnes aimes to link particle characterictics to environmental behaviour and biological uptake. In order to do so he used advanced imaging techniques, sets up uptake and retension experiments, and performes dosimetry. His research will reduce uncertainties in environmental impact assessment of particle contaminated sites.

PhD student Shane Scheibener studies uranium transfer in freshwater food chain by comparing exposure route toxicokinetics and toxicodynamics. His research will help to gain a more holistic insight into risk.
