Successful seminar on Environmental Radioactivity in Kiev with excursion to Chernobyl

CERAD co-organised a seminar on Environmental Radioactivity for PhD, Postdoc and MSc students in Kyiv (Ukraine) on June 4th – 6th. The aim of the seminar was to bring together young scientists so they could present and discuss the results of their research and strengthen collaboration between the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) and National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP).

The seminar consisted of several thematic sessions dealing with sources and transport of the radionuclides,transfer of radionuclides and multiple stressor studies, effects of ionizing radiation, and risk assessment.

In addition to the seminar, a field trip to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone was organised.
