Nuclear energy discussed on Norwegian television

The popular-science TV programme "Folkeopplysningen" adressed nuclear energy in their new season showed at NRK1 on September 26th. The programme tried to find out why the Norwegian NGOs reject nuclear energy as an important part of the solution for the problem of climat change. Several scientists, including CERAD Director Brit Salbu, as well as 4 NGOs including Greenpeace were interviewed during the show.

Brit Salbu explained how many people died from the radiation exposure after Chernobyl and Fukushima accidents - numbers that often get misused and misrepresented by Greenpeace and other organisations.

The programe caused a debate in the Norwegian media between Greenpeace and the production team.
