Prize awarded by the Norwegian Medical Association

On May 29th 2018, the Norwegian Medical Association has awarded its prize for preventive medicine to Christina Søyland Hassfjell (the main author) based on the article “Lung cancer incidence associated with radon exposure in Norwegian homes”. Co-authors of the article are Tom K. Grimsrud, Will Standring og Steinar Tretli.

The article is published in the The Journal of the Norwegian Medical Association nr. 14-16/2017

Christina Søyland Hassfjell has a PhD in radiation physics and is a former senior advisor of the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority. She has been a senior researcher at the Centre for Environmental Radioactivity, Centre of Excellence (CERAD CoE), one of the centres of excellence funded by The Research Council of Norway.
