The discussions on the symposium were focused on scientific results from laboratory and field studies, identification of the areas of consensus and exploring reasons for disagreements about the studies, different interpretation of the results, as well as their implications for environmental protection.

The participants derived seven consensus statements related to environmental protection against radiation, which are supplemented with some recommendations.

The agreed statement can be found here.
