Scientific insights from the Centre's partners, continuing on from the Bio4Fuels' kick-off meeting in February. An important part of this was an introduction and presentations from the candidates for our International Advisory Group. They have been chosen to cover three key areas of the Centre: Sustainability, Thermochemical Approaches and Biochemical approaches. They presented their activities and interest, in addition to challenging us with respect to their view as to where opportunities of research beyond the state of art should be directed.
Excursion: We got an overview of the activities of two of our user partners: Norske Skog Skogn and Biokraft AS. This visit was relevant in the context of the Bio4Fuels value chain and gave inspiration to getting results from the lab up towards practical application.

Day 2 was set up to allow detailed discussions between the research partners and the Industry/User partners. This is important to align the overall ambitions of the planned activities in terms of scientific focus and basis for innovation. The output from Day 2 is the basis for the annual workprogram that must be approved by the board in a meeting that that is scheduled for 20 December 2017.
