How do you plan to engage with and represent the wider PhD/postdoc community in your role on the board?
As a FU representative, I hope to be able to represent the PhD and postdoc-view in a good and representative way. I hope that FU (the research committee at the university) during the next year will make recommendations that benefits future PhDs and postdocs and makes it easier to choose a further academic career. I plan to engage the wider PhD/postdoc community by engaging in conversations with fellow PhDs/postdocs as well as the SoDoc board when relevant.
Brief summary of my research project at NMBU:
I am a PhD student in Microbiology at the Molecular Microbiology research group at the Faculty of Chemistry, Biotechnology and Food Science here at NMBU. My PhD project aims to find new insight into penicillin resistance in Streptococcus pneumoniae. We do this by using molecular tools and studying the impact of removing and altering genes in the bacteria.
