SoDoC seminar: Supervision and responsibilities as a PhD

This seminar will bring forward the importance of PhD supervision and the responsibilities of the PhD candidate. The role of the supervisor is to guide you throughout your PhD journey. However, some PhD candidates struggle to obtain a good and easy relationship with their main supervisor. This can cause unnecessary problems and result in more work.
The seminar will consider the understanding of student-supervisor relationship, and the different roles they have. Expectations, challenges and examples of interactions will be discussed, also related to changes due to COVID19.
All attendees are encouraged to send in their questions or issues anonymously prior to the seminar which will be discussed and used as example of cases.
The invited speakers for this seminar are Tim Richardson, Head of the PhD Program in Society, Development and Planning, and Sigrid Gjøtterud, Professor at REALTEK and responsible for the course “Master and PhD supervision”.
