Writing Center services are OPEN IN OSLO/ADAMSTUEN!! UPDATE

The Writing Center, based at Ås has primary services focus on improving academic writing skills, ranging from assisting students in the pre-writing and research planning stage, improving clarity, concision and precision in academic writing through multiple draft stages, and formatting final drafts.
The appointments available at Adamstuen do not only focus on written draft support, but can also offer support for:
- Critical thinking
- Critical reading and organization techniques for critical analysis of literature sources
- Time and task management support (scheduling, goal making, setting milestones, meeting deadlines)
- Outlining research and preparing to write effectively
- Writing techniques for improving structure, flow and transitions, clarity and comprehension, concision and precision
- Citation and referencing support

Please note: this is NOT a proofreading or editing service!

I encouraged you to book appointments regardless of where you are in the writing process. The advisor can assist with every step of writing, from conceptualization to final document formatting. The advisor also offers skill development and professional improvement beyond simply writing drafts.

We are trialing this offer during the spring semester, so I encourage you to try it out, if there is little uptake the offer will be withdrawn.

SoDoc are covering the costs of these appointments, so if you book and then cannot make it please send a cancellation email to the advisor, otherwise we will be charged for your appointment and this means we cannot offer it to somebody else, or other SoDoc activities will be effect by budgeting.

The appointments are 45 minutes long and start on the hour.
There are 2 dates currently available:

Monday 19th March, first appointment at 8am, last at 15.00
(UPDATE: All March appointments are now booked. Please make an appointment in April or May instead).

Friday 20th April, first appointment at 9am, last at 16.00

Monday 7, May, first appointment at 8:00, last at 16:00

Bookings are make via the following link:

Further days can be added if there is demand. Again we urge you to try this service even if you are not currently writing, it may well provide more benefit for you at this early pre-writing stage in terms of planning.
