FODOS ski trip

Dear PhDs,
It’s almost time for our annual ski trip!! On Saturday, February 20, we will head up to Hafjell, a ski resort with 18 lifts near Lillehammer. http://www.hafjell.no/

We will provide transportation to and from Hafjell, skis/snowboard and boots rental (helmet and poles included), the lift pass and a pizza dinner (lunch is up to you). The majority of costs will be covered by us, so the price is only 250 NOK for quota students and 350 NOK for PhD students with a Norwegian salary.

We will leave at 5:45 am in front of Aud Max, Drøbakveien 28! People living in Oslo, we will pick you from the Esso petrol station at Ryen krysset at 6:30 am. We will eat pizza in Hafjell at 16:30 and plan to leave Hafjell by 18:30. We should be in Oslo by 21:00 and Ås at about 21:30.

Deadline for signing up is February 13.
Deadline for transferring the money is February 15.
We will send you a confirmation email once the transfer is complete.

Beginners
If you have never been skiing before, fear not. We encourage you to join! There will be people to help you learn, and there are plenty of beginners’ slopes at Hafjell for you to practice on. If you aren’t aware of what clothes you need, let us know in your registration email. You are most likely able to borrow some gloves/pants from others, so don’t let that stop you from joining!

Ski instructors
We need 3-5 people to be available for 2 hours to teach the beginners. These people will get to join the trip for free! If you volunteer for this job you should be an experienced skier and be willing to dedicate some time in the morning to teach new skiers. Please indicate in your registration email if you would like to volunteer.

We hope to see you on the slopes!

Yours,
Social Committee
