Development support for applications and operation of projects

CoE/ SFF: Centre of Excellence 

  • NMBU offers external consulting assistance for the development of applications (paid from central funds).
  • Applications to the Centre of Excellence (CoE/ SFF) must be approved by the Rector prior to submission.
  • In the event of acceptance of a coordinator project, NMBU offers 1.4 MNOK per annum in cash and ensures that the centre has two recruitment position available at all times (PhD or post doctor).
  • In the event of acceptance of a coordinator project, NMBU offers two recruitment positions (PhD or Postdoc). In addition the participating faculties must at any cooperative time, give two recruitment positions to the center.
  • SFF - Norwegian Centres of Excellence scheme.

SFI: Centre for research-based innovation at NMBU

  • NMBU offers external consultant assistance for the development of applications (paid from central funds).
  • Applications to the Centre for research-based innovation (SFI) must be approved by the University Director prior to submission. 
  • In the event of acceptance of a ccordinator project, NMBU offers 1.4 MNOK per annum in cash and ensures that the centre has two recruitment position available at all times (PhD or post doctor).

FME: Centres for Environment-friendly Energy Research at NMBU

  • NMBU offers external consulting assistance for the development of applications (paid from central funds).
  • Applications to the Centres for Environment-friendly Energy Research (FME) must be approved by the University Director prior to submission.
  • In the event of acceptance of a ccordinator project, NMBU offers 0,5 MNOK per annum in cash.
  • In the event of acceptance of a ccordinator project, NMBU offers three recruitment position from the central pool (PhD or post doctor). Each of the faculties involved must provide a recruitment position each.

INFRASTRUCTURE: National Financing Initiative for Reseach Infrastructure

  • NMBU offer funds up to appx. 100 000 NOK, to be used for external consultants, workshops, buy-out of time spent with applications etc. Application may be sent to Solveig Fossum-Raunehaug in the Research Support Office.
  • Applications for INFRASTRUCTURE must be approved by the Rector prior to submission.

Large-scale Interdisciplinary Researcher Project:

  • NMBU offer funds up to appx. 100 000 NOK, to be used for external consultants and workshops (not for buy-out of time spent with applications). Applications may be send to Anna Lewandowska-Sabat in the Research Support Office.
  • Applications for FRIPRO independent projects must be approved by the Rector prior to submission.
  • In the event of acceptance of a coordinator project, NMBU offers recruitment position(s) (PhD or Postdoc).

FRIPRO Research Project:

  • NMBU offers external consultant assistance for the development of applications (payable by the faculty).
  • Applications submitted from NMBU must be approved by the department.

FRIPRO Young Research Talents:

  • NMBU offers external consulting assistance for the development of applications (payable by the faculty).
  • Applications submitted from NMBU must be approved by the department.
  • In the event of acceptance, NMBU will ensure that there is a recruitment post available (PhD or postdoc).

The industrial PhD scheme:

EU funded projects:

  • Assistance in the application process for applications to the EU.
  • NMBU provides assistance from the EU team (EU Advisers, EU Project Controller and Legal Adviser), external consultancy and financial support (Project Establishment Support (PES)) for the development of applications.
  • Applications to Horizon 2020 or other European funding sources must be approved by the Head of Department before submission. If the budget covers multiple departments or exceeds the department's own budget, the application must be approved by the Director of Research or the University Director.
  • Upon acceptance of coordinator projects (Horizon 2020) and ERC fellowships, the NMBU will offer recruitment posts (PhD or post doctor).
  • In the operating phase, the EU Project Controller may assist the departments with financial reporting.

NMBU offers external consultancy assistance for application development for calls in:

  • the Research Council of Norway (FRIPRO, CoE/ SFF, SFI, FME)
  • the EU Coordinator Applications (ERC, MSCA, Societal Challenges, etc.)
