Olav Thon Foundation

The Olav Thon Foundation announce awards for research and teaching internationally and nationally, as well as financial support for Nordic research in medicine and national student active research annually.

UMB's Research Fund

 The fund emerged before NMBU became the university name, hence the outdated name for the fund. The fund is managed by UNIFOR. The Board has chosen to announce application for travel- and research funding, intended applicants will be master students and PhD candidates. In total NOK 200.000 are awarded and application deadline is 30 March 2020.

The Fritt Ord Foundation

The paramount object of the Fritt Ord Foundation, Oslo, is to protect and promote freedom of expression and the environment for freedom of expression in Norway, particularly by encouraging lively debate and the dauntless use of the free word. Research funding announcements several times every year.

Grofondet at 100 million NOK is created by Gartnerhallen SA, BAMA Eiendom AS and NorgesGruppen ASA. Grofondet will contribute to the green change by increasing revenue and consumption of Norwegian fruts, berries, vegetables and potatoes. Grofondet awards specific project by application. Funding may be awarded R&D projects by application. Funding may be awarded R&D projects including Doctoral degree fellows, development projects initiated in the value chain and for capacity building.  Approximately 10 million NOK project funding is awarded annually.

The "pasteurlegat"

Grants from the Pasteurlegat are awarded "Norwegian scientists and women who intend to study a topic around the infectious agents, chemistry or fermentation industry". The intended recipients are primarily young, active and promising researchers below doctoral degree leve.

Wenner-Gren Foundation

The Wenner-Gren Foundation provides funding for projects within social anthropology, archaeology, linguistics and adjacent fields. The foundation offers many different types of fellowships for researchers outside of the USA, including funding for field work in connection with PhDs, post doctorate research fellowships and post doctorate writing fellowships (Hunt Fellowship).

The foundation also provides funding for conferences/workshops.
