Rector Mari Sundli Tveithas has accepted a new position as policy director at The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO).

 

Rector Mari Sundli Tveit headhunted to top NHO job

Wednesday 24 April rector Mari Sundli Tveit informed the University board that she will resign from her position. She has been has accepted a new position as policy director at NHO and resigns by July 31.

"It has been a great privilege and a pleasure to create NMBU together with employees and students. I am very proud of what we have achieved together and our importance for a sustainable future. I am now entering the last half of my last term, and I have had to start thinking about the future. I have been given a unique opportunity to take my expertise and commitment to sustainability further and to work with the interaction between academia and the business sector in a new and very exciting role."

The rector position will be advertised shortly and will last for the remainder of the term. The University board has decided that pro-rector Øystein Johnsen will be appointed temporarily as rector if needed.

To manage the employment process, the Board has appointed a committee consisting of Marianne Harg, Birger Svihus, Eivind Norum, Benedict Goodman. Chair Siri Harlen leads the comittee. POA is secretariat.
