The PHOTONFOOD project will develop a portable solution for detecting microbial and chemical contamination in food. Scientists from eight European countries are collaborating to create two new devices to ensure that your food is free from contaminations detrimental to your health. One of the devices will be handheld and allow daily monitoring from the farm to the fork, the other device will be portable and for reference analysis, developed for use at every step in the food production chain.
The PHOTONFOOD kick-off meeting was held online in Zoom on 19-20 January. Around 40 participants from 15 organisations, as well as the EU project officer, John Magan, participated in the meeting.
