NMBU is famous for its active student life and social events. In January 2017, the master's students in Sustainable Water and Sanitation went skiing, many for the first time. Social events contribute to cultural exchange and makes the student life more pleasant and interesting.

Two days annual ski trip is one example. Students from different countries and with different cultural and academic background join this event, which help them to come together and know each other. This is an interesting event, no matter if you are a beginner seasoned skier, or something in between.

Ski Weekend for NMBU students – January 2017 at Åstjern  Resort in Norway under the supervision of professor Petter D Jenssen. The trip was attended by 17 students. We left from Ås at 0900 and reached at the destination at 1200. 2017 was a year with exceptionally little snow in  Norway.

Everybody looks excited. This is a real snow adventure. Many people enjoy skiing because it is challenging and it gives them a sense of excitement and freedom. Students who were not interested in skiing had the chance to go on an excursion to see nearby historical attractions.

Dinner was served on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday morning. Ingredients were provided and students prepared the meals together. This year weather was not very good as compared to previous year. However, it was a fully supervised, organized and guided ski trip and everyone seemed to have a good time.
