Elena Rocca moves to OsloMet

Elena Rocca has been co-Director of NMBU Centre for Applied Philosophy of Science since 2018. During this time, she has organised round-table seminars in philosophy of science open for NMBU students and staff, developed a pilot Master-level course in Interdisicplinarity and Expert Disagreement in Sustainability Research, run a webinar on how to overcome barriers for genuine collaboration across disciplins, and led an externally funded research project, CauseHealth Risk and Safety (2018-2021).

For the last few years, Elena has taught philosophy of science and organised ethics debates together with Rani Lill Anjum for Examen Philosophicum, as well as philosophy of risk and probability in the course Causation in Science. Since October 2021, Elena has been Visiting Researcher at NMBU while teaching science in highschool.

Elena has worked at NMBU since 2015. We are sorry to see her leave, but happy to see her taking the next career step in a permanent academic position as Associate Professor at OsloMet. We also take this opportunity to move the headquarters of CauseHealth to OsloMet and the Faculty of Health Sciences, where we already got collaborators.
