Scopus is a large reference and citation database of peer-reviewed literature like scientific journals, books and conference proceedings.
Subject fields: science, technology, medicine and social sciences.

Scopus from Elsevier is a direct rival of Web of Science. However, neither database is inclusive, but complements each other.

The database includes alerting features that allows registered users to track changes to a profile.
