All organisations must relate to relatively frequent changes in their market opportunities and/or regulatory requirements. In this course we shall study how managers can contribute to improve their organisation's ability to handle both internal and external opportunities and limitations. This implies to secure an understanding in the organisation for the need for change, diagnosing what needs to be changed, and plan, initiate and implement desired change processes.

This course emphasizes the analysis of changes related to digitalization and sustainability. .

- Analyse change processes in organisations
- Understand what drives change processes, and based on relevant theories and methods present suggestions for how these can be managed
- Apply theories and models to analyse a change situation and present relevant solutions
- be able to reflect on what organisational change is and how change can be managed
- have ability for ethical reflection and corporate responsibility in change processes
A combination of lectures, oral presentations and group assignments. The students will conduct fieldwork in groups, under supervision.
Supervision and oral feedback on the groupwork by appointment, in addition to discussions in the classroom.

Compulsory participation in lectures, group discussion, presentations and field work (see teaching scedule in Canvas)
Combined assessment: Group report (60%), and an on-site 3,5 hours exam (40%) during the exam period (40%).
There will be no organized repeat exam in this course.
Total work load is estimated to 250 work hours.
The course is for master students at NMBU.

The teaching will take place as a four-hour session a week for 12 weeks.
The hours will be devoted to lectures, group work and presentations.
This will be explained in more detail at the start of the course.
An external examiner will assess the curriculum and principles for evaluation. Grades will be set by the teacher.
