Improving e-learning capacities in Malawi

Improving e-learning capacities at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) in Malawi.

The Learning Center is providing e-learning expertise to the program Capacity Building for Managing Climate Change in Malawi (CABMACC) to help improve knowledge sharing within the University and between the University and the agricultural extension service.

LUANAR is engaged in systematic development process to build communication and knowledge sharing capacities through an informed use of digital technologies. With a learning management system (LMS) as a strategic tool, LUANAR hopes to secure fundamental communication between the University’s three campuses, provide access to good quality learning materials, improve teaching and learning methods and improve the dissemination and implementation of knowledge from LUANAR. Faculty members involved in the CABMACC program will pilot the use of the LMS.

The Learning Center is engaged in training courses with regard to the use of a LMS and in exploring the use of radio and digital storytelling in extension efforts. Professor Bishal Sitaula, Noragric, is the Norwegian coordinator for the CABMACC program
