About this course

10 credits during spring parallell and 10 credits during autumn parallel. Starts in the spring. The lectures on land consolidation and civil processes are followed up by exercises.

Civil proceedings:

  • Legal method in civil proceedings
  • Superior principles in civil proceedings and how they are reflected in the law
  • Civil proceedings viewed as a process between the parties
  • How the courts are organised
  • The restrictions on a court's authority to entertain a controversy
  • Appeals and interlocutory appeals
  • Rules of costs

Proceedings in the land consolidation court

  • Both conditions and accomplishment
  • Different kind of judgements in the land consolidation court
  • Compare the general civil proceedings with the proceedings in the land consolidation court
  • To be a judge in the land consolidation court
  • Land consolidation proceedings and requirements in the ECHR
  • Regulation on costs in the land consolidation court

Learning outcome

  • The goal of the course is to provide the students with sufficient knowledge of legal processes (civil proceeding and land consolidation procedure) that is required when working as a land consolidation judge.
  • Capability to use the proceedings in the land consolidation court
  • Lectures and exercises.

    No mandatory attendance.

    As a general rule, no video recording of lectures.

  • EIE302 (may be taken simultaneosly)
  • Written exam.

    During the examination one should evaluate the students understanding of the topic trough argumentation. the exam will therefore amount to 5 hours. Grade scale: A-F.

  • The external examiner evaluates the exam papers of all the candidates. Discussions regarding course content and completion as part of examination conference.
